Driver agreement
Driver Terms & Conditions
Terms and conditions for independent licensed private hire and Hackney carriage drivers operating on the National Private Taxi Hire network.
Version 1.0 · Last updated 2 July 2026
Agreement overview
These terms apply to every driver who registers, downloads, and logs into the Trident Taxis Driver App dispatch system used by National Private Taxi Hire.
1. Introduction and Scope of Agreement
This agreement governs the relationship between National Private Taxi Hire (operating via nationaltaxibooking.com, hereinafter referred to as 'the Platform') and independent licensed private hire or Hackney carriage drivers or fleet operators (hereinafter referred to as 'the Driver'). By registering, downloading, and logging into the Trident Taxis Driver App dispatch system, the Driver agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
2. Open-Border Nationwide Eligibility & Licensing
- Unlike restricted single-city networks, the Platform operates an open-border model available to drivers across England, Scotland, and Wales.
- The Driver must hold and maintain a valid UK driving licence, a current Private Hire or Hackney Carriage driver badge, and a valid vehicle licence issued by a recognized UK local licensing authority.
- The Driver must immediately upload copies of all required credentials to the Platform upon registration. It is the Driver's sole responsibility to provide updated documents prior to expiry. Failure to do so will result in immediate suspension from the live dispatch app stream.
3. App Integration and Live Dispatch Rules
- All bookings generated through nationaltaxibooking.com are routed and managed via the Trident Taxis Driver App.
- The Driver acknowledges that jobs are distributed dynamically via an automated proximity and availability algorithm based on live GPS tracking.
- Once a job is accepted via the app, the Driver is contractually committed to fulfilling that booking. Unauthorized cancellations or failure to show up without emergency justification may result in account review or removal from the network.
4. Passenger Capacities and Vehicle Classes
- The Driver must operate a clean, roadworthy vehicle fully compliant with their local council regulations.
- Local Bookings: In compliance with local frameworks within the immediate Helensburgh and Lomond council area, local bookings are strictly capped at a maximum of 6 passengers.
- Distance Bookings: For all other regional, long-distance, and intercity mainland UK hires, vehicles configured as Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPVs) may carry up to 8 passengers.
- Drivers operating 5–8 passenger MPVs or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) are entitled to the standard +50% fare modifier applied by the Platform's live pricing matrix, provided the customer booking matches that vehicle class.
5. Fixed-Fare Structure and Earnings
- All journeys dispatched through the Platform are bound by a fixed-fare guarantee calculated upfront using postal code routing.
- Fares are completely locked before travel. The Driver agrees to honor the dispatched price and shall not charge passengers additional amounts for traffic delays, route diversions, or peak-time surge periods.
- Any modifications to a journey (such as additional drop-offs or route changes requested by the passenger mid-trip) must be reported immediately through the dispatch app or by calling the Helensburgh office (01436 593614) for fare recalculation.
6. Service Standards and Conduct
- The Driver is expected to provide an executive, luxury, and professional transport service. Vehicles must remain clean, smoke-free, and well-maintained.
- For airport transfers, the Driver must monitor flight times and provide a standard professional meet-and-greet service within the arrivals terminal where requested by the booking details.
- The Driver operates as an independent contractor and is not an employee of National Private Taxi Hire or Trident Taxis. The Driver is entirely responsible for their own tax, National Insurance, and local vehicle running costs.
7. Insurance and Liability
- The Driver must maintain a comprehensive, valid hire-and-reward insurance policy covering private hire or taxi operations across the UK mainland.
- The Driver agrees to indemnify the Platform against any claims, losses, damages, or liabilities arising directly from traffic incidents, passenger disputes, or regulatory non-compliance on the Driver's part.
8. Termination of Agreement
The Platform reserves the right to immediately terminate or deactivate a Driver's access to the Trident Taxis dispatch network if the Driver breaches any clause of this agreement, receives consistent poor passenger ratings, or engages in conduct that brings the network's reputation into disrepute.
By registering and logging into the Trident Taxis Driver App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Driver Terms & Conditions. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use the Platform or the driver dispatch system.
